God's Blessings

Proverbs 10:22 "It is the blessing of the LORD that makes rich, And He adds no sorrow to it."

I wanted to take a few moments to share how God has truly blessed Doug I over the last couple of weeks. If you read my last blog you would know that we were in a pretty bad car accident two Sundays ago. Well, Doug and I walked away from that accident with only a few minor injuries and came home safely the same day. We were blessed to have the support of the camp director and his family. Norm got in the car as soon as I called him and came to help us and get us home. We serve and awesome God!!

As we have spent the last few weeks dealing with insurance companies and hospital visits we began to feel a little overwhelmed. We were not quite sure what we would get back in a settlement with our totaled car and we knew that it was going to be hard to find something as good a we had for whatever we might get. But, God had a much greater plan that we knew nothing about until this past weekend. Doug's parents had approached us with the idea of borrowing a car they had until we could settle everything with our accident and find a car. Well, they were here at the camp this weekend and offered us the car they were going to let us borrow, but said we could keep it!!! What an amazing blessing. Our God is so good. Now, we get to save that money and wait a few years hopefully before we have to buy a car! We serve and awesome God!!

As I had mentioned, Doug's parents were here this weekend. The reason they came down is because we had a promotional dinner for the camp on Saturday night. We have one every year to allow people to hear about the camp and see what has been going on as well as think about supporting the camp in a bigger way!! Well, a part of that evening was dedicated to Doug and I because we were just brought on by the camp full time!! What an answer to our prayers. We have been praying this whole year as Doug did his internship that God would give us direction for our future and that if it be his will there would be an open door here at New Life Island. We are so happy to say that there was and here we are! So, I will hopefully be able to quit Starbucks by the spring because the camp will also be taking over our medical benefits! I will be on full time staff this summer and will just keep a part time job closer to home during the rest of the year. We truly serve an Amazing and Awesome God!!!

Thank you to all who have prayed for us as we waited on the Lord for his direction. We covet your prayers as we continue to serve Him here at New Life Island. We are so excited to be a part of God's work here.
